OVERVIEW
The Conservation Practice Data and Innovations (CPDI) is a web platform by the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). This platform serves as a comprehensive resource for information on various conservation practices implemented through the Farm Bill.
The website provides insights into different conservation practice categories, each addressing specific environmental and agricultural concerns. CPDI emphasizes the significance of technical and financial assistance available to agricultural producers, showcasing the NRCS's commitment to sustainable land management.
MY ROLE
As the UX/UI designer, I focused on enhancing the CPDI platform's user experience. I conducted user research with farmers, landowners, and conservation practitioners, optimized the information architecture for better navigation, aligned the design with the FPAC system, and ensured cross-device responsiveness. My goal was to create an accessible, user-friendly interface that effectively communicates vital information on sustainable land management practices.
CLIENT
USDA - The U.S. Department of Agriculture, specifically the Natural Resources Conservation Service, responsible for promoting sustainable agriculture through technical and financial assistance.
BUSINESS IMPACT & VALUE
The redesigned CPDI platform improved user engagement by making essential conservation data more accessible and easier to navigate. This not only supported the USDA's mission to promote sustainable land management but also enhanced the platform's value as a critical resource for the agricultural community, leading to more informed and effective conservation practices.
